Myles Kovalik
Award-winning director and screenwriter
using the surreal to tell stories of everyday life
Hi! I'm Myles Kovalik. I was born and raised in the great independent film city of Austin, TX where I caught the movie-making bug early, joining my first film class in the fourth grade.
I cut my teeth on no-budget indie shorts, but since graduating Loyola Marymount University with a major in Film & TV Production, I've had the pleasure of working with virtual production stages, big names, and RED cameras.
In my work as a writer/director, I focus on telling stories of everyday drama that everyone can relate to, with a surreal or fantastical touch to keep even reluctant viewers interested. After watching my movies, I hope you'll agree! Enjoy.

There is nothing more captivating than the feeling of magic and no medium better than film to cast the spell.
In my work as a director I seek to tell stories that imbue a sense of wonder into my audience, taking inspiration from classic, independent, and foreign cinema.
That said, there can be magic in everyday people and relationships, so most of my work is grounded in reality, with fantastical touches brushing up along the sides.
Ring Finger (8:27)
